Heat Death

Definition: The Heat Death of the universe, also known as the Big Chill or Big Freeze, is a conjecture on the ultimate fate of the universe, which suggests the universe would evolve to a state of no thermodynamic free energy and would therefore be unable to sustain processes that increase entropy.

For this show the term Heat Death felt appropriately ironic, since we’ll all be dying of rising temperatures on our planet while the greater universe will die from the inverse. Some of the works in this show cynically embrace our plastic present, others are made as Earth-friendly alternative futures, and some are metaphors for a generation collapsing under pressures of their predecessors neglected responsibilities.

This show was created under an umbrella of climate anxiety. Feeling like a powerless observer as consumption based society pushes us towards environmental collapse. But why not have some fun with it? After all, it’s no use crying over spilled milk.
